Its exciting times all round for us with our first 10k and our first overnight walk around London. With both the Big Issue Winter Walk and the After Adoption 10k exceeding expected numbers and being a huge success, they have each immediately become an annual fixture in the calender. Both have led to enquiries from participants for other charities to do the same and even for triathlons.
The event was so successful it even prompted a letter of thanks from the CEO of After Adoption.
“You should be aware by now of the volumes of positive feedback we have
received from runners who took part. One of the comments we have received
most consistently is that the run was very well organised and everything went
very smoothly. At After Adoption we know only too well that it is sheer hard work
and a will to deliver work that creates successful events and I thank you and your
team for bringing both of these attributes to our event in spades.
I think you know already that the event also surpassed its fundraising objectives,
which is wonderful for a first year and especially a year that has been difficult for
so many people. Sponsorship money raised by runners continues to arrive and
we will let you know the final figure raised in due course. This money will support
our work with children and adults affected by adoption across England and
Wales.”
