The Benefits of Guided Events
On a guided bike event we'll have one guide leading each peloton - a cycle group of around 10 participants of same skill level cyclists. Some of the benefits of not having to get to the finish line on your own include;
Don't lose your supporters! With a Tall Stories guide leading the way you won’t get lost as they will have reccied the route and carry specially designed bike maps. No map reading or hoping you have seen the route markings – just follow the guide.
Practical support - Our guides can make sure your bike is set up correctly for you – saddle, handlebars angle/height, etc – to make your ride as safe and as injury free as possible. And if something does break there's always experienced mechanical help on hand.
Learning new skills - On the road there is an opportunity to learn some basic mechanics – changing tyres, inner tubes, cabling, etc
- learn about bike specs – what to use when e.g. tyres, chain sets, etc. There's also an opportunity to learn cycling techniques
from cycling in a peloton and correct cadence to gear use and braking.
Motivational support
- With a Tall Stories guide accompanying you and providing you with moral support, more people achieve the event objective than would if they were on their own.
Emotional support
- Guides let you get on with enjoying the ride as the guide takes care of everything else.
Nutritional support
- All our guides are keen to share their knowledge of hydration and nutrition. They make sure participants have enough to eat and drink at each stop keeping fuelled and hydrated and feeling better throughout the challenge.
Safety & First Aid
- Our guides know the road as they have reccied the route and can warn people of any potential dangers.
Not forgetting that With a Tall Stories guide you have the opportunity to mix with some of Great Britain’s best cyclists!
