Charity Challenge Grading
There are 4 grades of event:
Easy – We will have plenty
of time to admire the views and have longer lunches.
You can carry just a small day pack with your personal
belongings for the day in it. If you do not do any
exercise normally, you will enjoy these events more
if you do some training.
Moderate – These events require
you to have a minimum reasonable level of fitness
which will allow you to do 5-6 hours of walking or
cycling each day. You will need to carry a small day
pack with your personal belongings for the day in
it, water and possibly your lunch.
Tough – These events will
require a higher level of fitness and experience than
the moderate events. You will benefit from a higher
commitment to training and more previous experience.
You will need to carry a small day pack with your
personal belongings for the day in it, water and lunch.
Very Challenging – You will
be expected to have previous experience of trekking/biking,
a high level of fitness, you will need to be prepared
for long hours out walking or in the saddle, the terrain
may be inaccessible/remote, you may be working at
altitude. You will have to carry more of your personal
belongings.
Some of our events can be modified to move them
from Moderate to Easy grading (or vice versa) by shortening/lengthening
the distance travelled each day or by changing the
length of the event.
