Itinerary:
Day 1: Thurs 16/9
Participants arrive at the YHA accommodation in Patterdale at the foot of Helvellyn. A chance to meet the rest of the teams before a briefing and evening meal at the YHA.

Day 2: Fri 17/9
We have an early breakfast at the YHA and then meet up with the trekking guides and begin the challenge. We will start with a kit check to make sure that everyone is correctly equipped for each element of the challenge. The group will start at the YHA with the walk over Helvellyn. The route taken will depend on demand and weather conditions. The say of the guide will be final in dictating the route. A snack or packed lunch will be given as well as water for the trek. The trek will be followed by the mountain biking to the start of the canoe and across Lake Windermere.

The Trek
The route will be over the summit of Helvellyn (the second highest mountain in England). The starting point will be at the YHA and the finishing point Wythburn car park, thereby walking east to west.
Descent of 803m
Ascent of 764m.
Approx. duration: 4 to 4 ½ hrs

The Mountain Bike Ride
This is the hardest section of the event. This section starts with adjusting the bikes and a briefing on the ride. The group start from Wythburn Car Park and will finish on the eastern side of Lake Windermere with a refuelling stop en route. The route is a mixture of tarmac and off road with some challenging climbs and great descents. There will be options for different abilities.
Approx. duration: 3 hrs

The Canoe
This will be undertaken in a mixture of single and double canoes. The start and finish point for this circular route will be at Low Wood Hotel moorings. The route will be varied according to winds and general weather as well as lake traffic.
Approx. duration: 1½hrs

When all teams have completed the challenge there will be a celebratory toast of the group’s achievements. Participants will then be shown to their rooms at a local hotel where they will have time for a shower before we all enjoy the celebratory meal.

Day 3: Sat 18/9
Breakfast will be provided at the hotel after which the group will return home.
